I believe in “The more we give, the more we shall receive” as the saying goes “What goes around, comes around”.
In this article, I would briefly cover what my website consists of and therefore gives you an idea what you should do with yours.
The point here is marketing.
Marketing is all about communicating.
If you have knowledge or expertise but no one knows about it – isn’t that a sad story?
If you think that you don’t have much thing to share, think again. I once thought that what I know, there’s many that already knew it. And that kept me quiet for awhile. Even Gene have something interesting.
So, apart from spending time writing or producing content to share, you need to know how to set it up correctly so your exposure is maximized. You’ll need exposure to keep you going 🙂
You can use my website as a reference base for yours. My main objective for a website is the ability to add contents easily, whether it is a video, message, photos, drawings, voice recordings and music too.
To start with, all posts made in this blog will instantly appear in tweeter and facebook simultaneously.
At the same time, some popular websites will also start to pick up the contents from my website quickly.
Is that cool or cool? It saves me time and let me focus on my writing.
You may see that there are some important components that I have included into my website.
Some of it is visible and some of it are not.
For example, you can include the Tweet and social sharing shortcuts.
Here are some of the plugins or widgets I’m using on my website:
- WordPress – one of best blogging software around
- Note: once you’ve login to your wordpress blog, you’ll be able to access the plugin page and then search for the plugins I mentioned below.
- Feedburner – for RSS subscription management and tracking
- Podcasting – allow podcast to be added to your website
- WP-Print – make your articles printer-friendly”
- Adsense – well you can make money from advertisements in your website too
- Email subscription – allow people to subscribe to your list
- TweetMeme
- WP to Twitter – this is a time saver. It will post your post title with a link back to your blog. Great for more exposure automatically.
- Twitter – you can sign up for Twitter account so that you can link the plugins to your account.
- Twitter in Facebook – Your tweets can be automatically submitted to your Facebook’s profile messages.
