Do you agree that small things make the biggest impact. One of a good example is Twitter.
Less is more. With 140 characters for each message, Twitter has grown wild and have been successful within the web in a very short time.
Now that Twitter is around for a while and there’s an established presence, entrepreneurs and companies should start looking at leveraging on Twitter.
Without delving too deep, let’s start by looking at what are the benefits we can expect from using Twitter.
Establish Loyalty
Loyalty allows a business or company to have consistent revenue based on repeat purchases and referrals.
Twitter allows you to be more accessible, more sociable, more trustworthy.
Maintain Sight
This is pure marketing, out of sight = out of mind. A consistent flow of short messages can maintain relationship and remind your followers of your existence.
Build up a List of Contacts
Allow people to follow you in twitter. All your updates will be visible to them once they follow you.
This is the asset of many marketing efforts. A targeted list or database of contacts, not just any contacts, will provide leverage on future marketing efforts almost immediately, making it much easier to boost up sales.
How Do I Start
Assuming you’ve got twitter account, you can post short texts (a.k.a. tweets) for updates on your business and post as often as you like. Social is about getting personal, so, don’t make it as an authoritative or official voice on your messages.
Example – do you prefer:
ABC Co. have launched a new product for babies. Please visit our website for more info.

Hi there, we’ve got a new product for babies and both the baby and parents will love it. Curious? Let’s check it out…
Twitter is just like SMS, you get the messages instantly as it happens.
Deliver good service to your customers, ask them to tweet their experience or testimonials. All you need is to email your customers with a link to your twitter page and your message. You can also offer freebies to encourage them to do so. Who can resist freebies?
There’s More…

Put Twitter on your website. Twitter provides several ways that you can display the messages you posted or from others on your website. There are widgets and other tools available in the Goodies page.
If you would like to drastically increase your followers (list of contacts) with less effort, you can check out Genesis Rocket. I’m currently using this product to increase my followers.
