Have you seen dandelion flowers before?
The flowers grow to its mature stage and wait for the wind to pollinate its seeds.
When the wind comes, the seeds from the flower will be blown away and find its place to grow.
There are many stories that I have heard about businesses nurturing their sales staff. Waiting for the right time, they will go out and start their own business…
It is fine that staff resigns and start their own business but at times there are conflicting interests with the previous business that they worked for.
Worst still, they may persuade a group of colleagues to leave with them and to start the new company, even persuade existing customers to switch over to the new company for support.
Such cases usually happened when it is run by business owners that overly trust their sales and supporting staff.
Why sales staff leave?
In the first place, most people will have the intention of starting their own businesses.
The colleagues are easy to get along compared to bosses.
Colleagues may be easier to persuade since they know each other.
Some may make the wrong decision to choose colleagues to be the boss but that’s another story.
Why customers leave?
Customers sees the sales staff as the business. They are the single point of contact.
As the saying goes, “Greener grasses is on the other side of the river”.
In summary, people wants higher salary, customers wants better value for money.
