Clarity = Power, But How To Have Clarity?

thoughtsAn advice given from H.L. Hunt if you want to be financially successful (a self-made billionaire who died in 1974). First you need to decide what you want to accomplish. The point here is clarity. Strong definition is vital to any success.

Along my experiences, there are many times I found myself not too clear of what I wanted. Impatience causes me to convey weak messages to my colleagues and expect them to work on it, which then doesn’t happen.

So, the golden question is: How to be clearly defined?

Let’s use tools to help us along.

I borrowed this concept from a testing framework from programming that I’m currently learning now.

Testing is to allow the requirements or specifications of a software to be tested against the software to compare it’s expected behaviors.

Looking at the syntax or structure, the latest testing called Cucumber is a very interesting testing solution.

As it allows us to go through the thought process and defined exactly what we expect from the output.

If we use such technique to define our path to success, then the question is not whether we can be successful but how soon.

Currently, this tool helps many software analysts and developers to obtain exact requirements from clients and setting the right expectations to avoid miscommunications and ensuring everyone’s head is on the ground, and not on clouds.

Try this: observe and try to notice whether people who you’re talking to are consciously clear of what they are saying (don’t offend anyone, ok?) and let me know your thoughts.
